We were absolutely delighted when we had the phone call to feature in this year’s Parliamentary Review. It is a testament to Signet’s commitment to our customers, our innovation and our drive to develop ourselves and our brand. We have been invited to contribute towards the manufacturing section of the review and it shows Signet’s success is recognised across the industry, and also by the review committee. Ian Lyon, our Managing Director, submitted a report discussing the last 12 months for the business, the good news, the challenges and how we overcame them and the development of a culture within Signet.

Ian talks around the changes in the business a few years ago and the decision to focus more on the drinks industry and how the market has changed with consumer behaviour focusing more on brands. Ian said “I’m really excited to have the chance to talk about Signet and the changes we have been going through, not only in the direction of the business, but also internal changes with our new offices and developing a culture within the business to engage staff and make them want to come to work every day. It is important for us as a company that our staff are as enthusiastic about our brand as they are about the brands we work with”.

At Signet, we are always looking for ways to improve and develop, and one of the areas Ian mentions in the review is development of lean production principles with creating a project management system and investing in new quality control equipment, ensuring better return for our customers.

The aim of the review is to raise industry standards through showcasing best practice and for the review to be a learning tool for executives and key personnel. There are sector specific editions of the review, in which a select number of companies contribute, and forewards from Theresa May, Philip Hammond MP and Greg Clark MP. The Manufacturing edition will be sent out to leading policymakers, MPs, Peers at the House of Lords, Chief Executives, Managing Directors and other key personnel.

We are looking forward to the Parliamentary Review Gala, which marks the publication of the review and is hosted by The Rt Hon David Curry on Wednesday 22nd September in The House of Commons. We will post photos of the Gala on our social channels.
