Having sourced these adorable mini jumpers, we knew they would be perfect for a client seeking to add a hugely memorable, eye catching and humorous flourish to their festive packaging. An existing Signet client, Rock Rose / Dunnet Bay Distillers jumped at the chance to literally dress up their bottles in the mini Christmas jumpers, which were custom made in the brand colours with a Rock Rose intarsia.
The first whisky distillery to be established in Wales for over a century, Penderyn uses natural spring water from the Brecon Beacons to create its award-winning bourbon. For its ‘Icons of Wales’ series, the company developed this bottle in tribute to the opera singer, Bryn Terfel, best known for playing Shakespeare’s Falstaff. In a nod to the red velvet curtain of the theatre, the bottle was wrapped in a red flocked material, leaving a custom aperture to house a Marque flexible aluminium label in a gold finish, with stunning embossed detailing and self-adhesive back.
Literally a kitchen table enterprise, the Orchard Gin Company entered the booming gin market with the aim of creating hand-crafted, hedgerow-inspired gin products made with ingredients like damsons, elderflower and rhubarb. Sealing the contemporary bottles with wax was key to entrepreneur Hannah Wardle’s vision – but having exhausted various options for getting the wax open, she was losing faith fast! Enter Signet’s strong, non-stretch ribbon tear strips with dry tab which made hand application of the bottle sealing wax and subsequent opening of the seal a breeze.
Created by Gortinore Distillery, Natterjack Whiskey was inspired by a fusion of Irish and American distilling and blending techniques and also by Ireland’s only native toad – the Natterjack, which walks while all others are hopping! With the toad at the centre of its branding, Gortinore sought to really bring the character of their product alive on the bottle. Our Marque aluminium label fitted the bill perfectly, enabling the label to be embossed and high level printed to give the toad a really authentic ‘warty’ feel!
Lucid Absinthe / Hood River Distillery approached Signet for help in the creation of a challenging cutout applique for their superior product. Highly intricate, the delicate design had to be robust enough to withstand a retail environment as well as meeting budget and delivery deadlines. After exploring various options, the client selected a stunning design created using Marque flexible aluminium. The colour of the green glass bottle was painstakingly matched to achieve an authentic ‘cut out’ appearance that would still be easy to apply. The material is processed in a specialist machine which ultrasonically welds and forms the appliqués in a mould for a captivating relief effect.
Iconic Champagne house Hediard approached Signet looking to achieve an edge over the competition by upgrading what would traditionally have been a paper label to a tactile 3D sticker in a faux seal style. We created a vibrant silkscreened label in a classic red & gold colourway, with Hediard’s ‘H’ embossed in the centre and selective resin doming around the fluted edge to create the appearance of a wax seal with a super-premium, high shine appearance.
Born out of a vision to unearth and reinvigorate Camden Lock’s former gin glory, Half Hitch is a relatively new brand seeking to tap into a rich heritage. Signet worked with the brand to develop a distinguished and tactile label for their small batch gin using printing and embossing techniques to produce a design that referenced the connection to Camden Lock and the ‘half hitch’ knots used to moor barges along the canal. The result is an authentic-looking Marque aluminium flexible label with a vintage feel that is very much in style.
A truly special project, Signet was commissioned to produce a large commemorative medallion for Bacardi’s Oakheart spiced rum, which was presented to US Navy Seals as part of a remembrance event coinciding with the anniversary of the loss of Chinook Extortion 17 during the Afghan War. Signet created a custom, die cast medallion in antique bronze, featuring a special logo and commemorative message. Each medallion was then stitched onto a loop of buttery tan leather, which was hung from the bottle neck and serves as a stunning, heirloom quality keepsake.
Made to a top secret formula, Gozio Amaretto is distilled at the Distillerie Franciacorta in Italy. With a long and distinguished history, the process used to make the amaretto is new and unique and this is reflected in the contemporary bottle and overall branding of the product. To emphasise the premium quality and tradition behind the brand, as well as highlighting its ‘all natural’ credentials, Signet was commissioned to create a faux wax seal injection moulded onto a foil blocked ribbon loop. The seal itself was finished with further gold foil to highlight the text and an adhesive pad on the reverse to secure the whole ensemble once it has been applied to the bottle neck.
Crafted to the same uncompromising standards as its iconic Old No. 7, the limited edition Jack Daniel’s No. 27 Gold is twice charcoal mellowed and extra matured in golden-hued maple barrels for a rich, warm finish. Signet was tasked with a very special commission; creating tiny, precise replicas of a gold medal received by Jack Daniel himself in 1904, when he presented his Tennessee Whisky to the world at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Die cast and given an antique brass finish, the intricate medals were placed in a location area on the bottle neck.
A premium, Russian-style vodka, Stoli developed a variation called Stoli Gold, harnessing some of the world’s most precious materials to produce a sublimely rich vodka experience. Filtered through shungite, a rare carbon found only in northwest Russia, and then through coils of gold thread, the premium process needed to be reflected in the bottle design. Signet created a stunning curved cartouche, die-cast in zinc and then metallised in gold with dark blue enamel applied to the relief.
After a visit to a Canadian winery, one of Glenfiddich’s chief distillers began experimenting with the effects of French icewine casks in whisky production. Discovering the unique sweet, crispness afforded to the aged single malts, he created a unique limited edition – Glenfiddich Winter Storm. As an existing client, the company immediately approached Signet for help in embellishing the striking white bottle, which we did by creating a cartouche in a wax seal style, using brilliant white polymer cast in a mould featuring the brand’s establishment year and shaped to fit the location area on the shoulder.
Jameson approached Signet in search of an embellishment that would set its limited edition Black Barrel whiskey apart from other products in the range. The black barrel itself proved to be the ideal inspiration for a die cast metal hangtag, textured to give it the appearance of wood. The tag also featured a short marketing slogan giving a raised appearance to the lettering. The entire tag was sprayed black and the lettering was finished in the natural zinc finish. The tag is hung from the bottle neck using an elastic cord for simple application.
