The background

Located in La Plaine St. Andre, on the island of Seychelles, Takamaka is famous for its rum craftsmanship. Looking to add an element of prestige to their limited edition Le Clos Series rum, we collaborated with Trois Freres Distillery and their chosen design agency to produce a distinctive embellishment for their Takamaka Rum – with an innovative twist.

The brief

Takamaka provided a comprehensive brief alongside their design concept and drawings. The objective was clear – with such a unique curvature of the bottle, they needed to someone dedicated to ensuring precision so that the coin seamlessly integrated with the bottle’s shape. Considering Seychelles’ tropical climate, it was essential to that application withstood the region’s heat, ensuring the coin remained securely attached during bottling and transportation.

The result

Our team created the perfect emboss detail to feature on the face of the coin – giving clear detail and building sensory memory with each customer encounter. Perfectly secured to the bottle, this embellishment also colour-matched all other elements in the overall pack design – including the screen printing.

The statement coin had a tumble-plated finish and featured extra protection to protect it against tarnishing. The strong adhesive and hand application of this embellishment creates a distinct, artisanal touch whilst ensuring that the embellishment stays securely affixed to the front of the bottle.
