Drawn exclusively from oak casks seasoned with dry Oloroso Sherry, The Macallan’s Oscuro named from the Spanish word for dark in reference to its rich colour and deep, intense flavour. The client, Edrington Group, supplied us with a detailed brief of how they wanted the neck collar to look as well as drawings of the decanter. After producing some initial prototypes in die-cast metal, we engaged in an extensive sampling process which allowed us to further refine the joining mechanism, using a clip that made the collar quick and easy to apply. After painstaking colour matching of the metallised finish, we were delighted to put the collar into production and see the finished result looking stunning on shelf.
