At Signet we are proud to have created an array of beautiful bespoke packaging for a range of clients. This gallery shows just a selection of the luxury packaging we have created for customers in the past. From the beautiful badges for Monkey Shoulder whisky to faux wax seals for Hotel Chocolat, there isn’t much that we can’t do. If you are inspired by any of the designs and want us to create some unique packaging for your business please get in touch with our friendly team.
Glen Garioch’s signature seal approval is a well-established element of the brand and appears in various iterations on all their labeling. For a special vintage edition, they commissioned Signet to take their packaging to the next level, creating a three-dimensional, self-adhesive coin to bring an extra element of luxury to the finished article. The coin was die cut from copper to produce a strong yet delicate, ultra thin applique that was further enhanced with laser engraving and applied to both the paper label and the lid of the bottle.
Gancia owner, Russian Standard approached Signet to work on the redesign of their Prosecco bottle, with particular focus on the export market. The objective was to add an eye-catching and tactile embellishment to the packaging. Signet proposed a real satin ribbon enhanced with raised print and only partially adhered to the bottle, thus enabling the product to move and encouraging the customer to interact on a tactile level. The ribbon was heat cut to simultaneously seal the ends and prevent unravelling.
Signet created a fabulous branded closure for Elizabeth Shaw’s deluxe collection of after-dinner mint chocolates. Featuring a plastic charm on a three-strand elastic, the product served as both a luxury embellishment and a practical box closure to secure the contents (assuming you don’t eat them all at once!) The charm was produced in two parts using injection moulding and then the three elastic strands were added before the whole thing was heat fused together for a seamless look that also conceals the joins in the elastic. Finished with gold foil, the embellishment is supremely easy to apply.
Christian Drouin’s ‘La Blanche’ calvados harks back to the first days of calvados production when oak cask ageing was not required and the liqueur was consumed in its uncoloured, white state. Of course, there was only one colour for the embellishment – it had to be white. Drouin also wished to convey the heritage quality of this classic product and so Signet shaped and distressed the mould to create an authentic-looking faux wax seal made from rubberised plastic that would flex around the bottle while fusing traditional and contemporary design.
For it’s 120th anniversary, New Zealand winery Church Road created a limited edition bottling in homage to winemaking pioneer, Tom McDonald. The innovative packaging included an innovative printed bottle sleeve and the company needed a way to secure this. Having tried and failed to find a Chinese manufacturer able to produce a quality solution, they discovered Signet. We created custom faux wax seal, double sided and injection moulded onto a luxury black waxed cotton cord, with the lettering finished in gold foil for a rich look. With both free ends of the cord embedded in the seal, a simple loop was created that could be swiftly wrapped around the neck of the bottle bag and the charm then passed through the loop to secure.
After four years of waiting to sample their much-anticipated Cognac-aged Marmalade Vodka, it was no surprise that Chase Vodka wanted to mark the occasion with a really special, limited edition bottle to match. The client specified a really simple, classic look and Signet delivered the goods with an embossed and printed pewter label that wraps effortlessly around the bottle for a really decadent result that made this bottle a true collector’s piece.
Five times distilled Cavoda Vodka styles itself as an innovative brand inspired by elite pop culture with a nod to ancient French distilling traditions. The brand is crisp, clean and contemporary and sought a bottle decoration that would reflect these values as well as adding a deluxe flourish. Signet created a stunning die-cast medallion encapsulating everything that is unique about Cavoda; its weighty feel, intricate detail and platinum-coloured finish speaks volumes about the attention to detail behind the product itself. Crimp sealed onto a simple cotton cord and chiming delicately against the glass, it brings a multi-sensory element to the Cavoda experience.
When it comes to embellishing a bottle of whisky named ‘Red Seal’, there’s really only one choice – a red seal! This bottle of Buchanan’s is inspired by an old bottling produced originally for the Royal household and is matured for 21 years. To emphasise its heritage and offer reassurance for the customer, Signet was commissioned to produce an innovative security seal comprised of a red faux wax seal and a beautiful woven ribbon featuring read and gold accents on a green background. The same seal was also applied to the presentation box and sits neatly in a custom cutaway, adding an extra layer of interest and security to the product.
A richer, smokier expression of their award-winning Scotch whisky, The Famous Grouse approached Signet looking to create a really special look for their Black Grouse ‘Alpha Edition’. The name was inspired by the plumage of the male grouse, which turns a stunning iridescent green in mating season – with the most flamboyant bird taking the coveted title of alpha male. It was only fitting that the grouse feather should take pride of place on the neck collar and Signet developed a jointed aluminium collar with etched print and silicone inner ring. This was joined together by a small spring into which a flourish of specially sourced grouse feathers could be attached by hand for a striking look that really tells the story of the product.
After winning an IWSC Gold award, South African whisky company Bain’s understandably wanted to shout about it – and did so by commissioning a medal for each and every bottle of their award-winning whisky! Signet created a detailed, die-cast golden charm bearing the award information and suspended from a smart, red cord around the bottle neck. The same charm was also applied to some limited edition presentation tins, via a red ribbon and adhered to the side of the packaging.
Hard to say but easy to drink, Scottish lowland whisky makers Auchentoshan approached Signet with a brief for a limited edition 480-bottle run of their 30-year bourbon cask aged whisky. A real whisky heavyweight, Signet proposed a similarly weighty design; an embossed pewter label that could be placed on both the bottle and the presentation box. The hand finished plaques were flexible enough to curved around the face of the bottle, and were then pre-creased to wrap around three sides of the presentation box for a co-ordinated and super-deluxe look.
Distilled in Woodford County, Kentucky, since the 1800s, Woodford Reserve has earned the reverence of bourbon connoisseurs the world over for a flavour so perfect it has barely changed in two centuries. To celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary in 2012, Woodford Reserve commissioned Signet to create a distinctive medallion, cast in zinc and copper plated to evoke the copper pot stills used in the process to this day. Suspended from a twisted rayon cord loop, the medallion was easy to apply to the bottle and simple to remove and retain as a keepsake of a very special bottling.
Whyte & Mackay can trace its whisky-making roots back to 1844 in Glasgow and produces some of the world’s finest, multi award winning blended malt whiskies to this day. For Whyte & Mackay’s 30-year-old scotch, the company wanted to create a striking look with a matt black spray painted bottle, featuring the iconic Whyte & Mackay lion insignia in gold and a custom die-cast coin hanging from the capsule. Signet responded by developing a flexible version of the gold plated nickel transfers, which could wrap around the curved face of the bottle, plus a custom crimp seal charm attached to a satin ribbon and gold plated for a premium look befitting of this deluxe product.
With 10 generations of expertise, Villa Lobos is one of Mexico’s eminent tequila brands. A family-owned business, Villa Lobos is one of the last distilleries producing aged tequila the old fashioned way, and this artisan approach is reflected in the presentation of the bottle. Villa Lobos approached Signet looking for an embellishment that would convey the heritage of its 180-year-old distillery, and we created a beautiful cartouche with a slightly irregular edge in the style of a faux wax seal. Created in a Marque aluminium label with a self-adhesive back, and designed to fit perfectly in the location area on the bottle, the cartouche featured a small graphic derived from the company logo and the date of La Altena distillery’s establishment, highlighted in gold foil.
For a much-anticipated release of their 16-year barrel aged whiskey, Tyrconnell sought a really distinctive look for their bottle. Signet devised a series of embellishments including a heavyweight hangtag suspended from a plaited leather cord, and a copper foot plaque. An extensive sampling process was undertaken in order to achieve a perfect match between the leather cord, the tag and the green label on the bottle. The tag itself was fitted with a metal eyelet and featured both printing and copper foil, which was picked up in the die cast foot plaque, which was made from rigid metal and had to be pre-formed to fit the curve of the bottle.
Like so many fashion brands, Ted Baker / KMI Brands has recently branched out into premium homewares and sought an eye-catching addition to the packaging for their range of scented candles and reed diffusers. Signet collaborated to create a range of colour co-ordinated faux wax seals to further underscore the product differential across the range, while tying in with the ‘Global Cities’ theme. Injection moulded in colour-matched polymer with an adhesive back, the seals were applied to both products and presentation cartons.
Prestige cookware company Stellar / Horwood Homewares wanted to create a very high quality branded accessory for a relaunched range. Part of the brief was that this should be difficult to copy, since the company had been experiencing some problems with counterfeit products. After experimenting with various colours, sizes and styles, Signet developed a small oval hangtag in a style often favoured by fashion brands to denote the kind of understated quality that characterizes the Stellar brand. Injection moulded onto a twisted rayon cord with a clip closure, the tag was finished with hot foil stamping to highlight the Stellar name.
Taking inspiration for its logo from the ‘swan neck’ shape of the pipes on their copper pot stills, Sipsmith’s swan is fast becoming a gin icon. The company wanted to create a pin badge as a gift for its most loyal customers, to welcome them into the Sipsmith family. Signet produced a beautifully delicate design, die cast in zinc and copper plated, with a butterfly back.
Sipsmith Gin hit upon a novel idea for a Christmas gift set; six gin miniatures designed to hang from the Christmas tree. Having previously experimented with wire, they approached Signet seeking a more professional-looking solution. We suggested a much thinner version of the gift ribbon Sipsmith already sourced from Signet, printed with their branding in copper foil and pre-tied for swift application to the bottles. Simple, stylish and highly effective!
